WhatsApps Application Hits 64-Billions Messages In Just A Day

A world class messaging service, WhatsApp is the OS-transcending service that's hitting huge numbers and making Zuckerberg rub his hands with glee.

WhatsApp today announced it has handled approximately 64 billion messages in just 24 hours

The news came via WhatsApp's Twitter feed, with the team announcing a total of 20-billion sent messages and 44-billion received.

The figures aren’t equal because group chat means one sent message can have several recipients, upping the grand total by a significant chunk.

Currently the world’s most popular messaging app, WhatsApp has an advantage over services like Apple’s iMessage by functioning on multiple operating systems.

Mark Zuckerberg will no doubt be pleased with the news, after Facebook acquired the messaging service earlier this year for $19-billion USD – that's more than the GDP of Belize.
