Flappy Bird Game Creator Says The Game Would Make A Return Soon

Flappy Bird creator Dong Nguyen caused a huge controversy when he pulled the game from the App Store and Google Play. But now it looks like Flappy Bird will fly again.

Asked on Twitter if Flappy Bird would make a return, Nguyen replied: "Yes. But not soon."

It won't be Flappy Bird as we know it, but rather a new and improved game, Nguyen promised. "It will not be the original game but a better one," he said. "I keep my word."

Nguyen said in an interview earlier this month that he was "considering" bringing the game back. He added a warning that players should take a break once in a while. He's been off Twitter for the last month, so these replies are big news for fans.

Nguyen took the game down from app stores after it became a massive hit. He was reportedly making $50,000 a day in advertising revenue, but he found the abuse on social media was too much. The game's notorious level of difficulty caused gamers to berate Nguyen.

Since the game was pulled, a flock of imitators has taken flight, including Clumsy Bird, Flappy Yeti, and Flappy Bee.
