Google Glass Set To Be Worn By Virgin Atlantic Staff

Virgin Atlantic staff will start wearing Google Glass as part of an innovative pilot scheme which will trial the effectiveness of using wearable tech to enhance the customer experience.

The lucky few will be the Concierge staff at Virgin Atlantic's ultra-exclusive Upper Class Wing at Heathrow Terminal 3. Having arrived by chauffeured limousine passengers will be greeted by the staff who will have instant access to flight information via the smart glasses.

As well as seeing up to date flight info, staff wearing Google Glass will be able to access weather information at the passenger's destination as well as being able to translate any foreign languages.

Not content with being one of the first companies to use Google Glass, Virgin Atlantic also uses Apple's iBeacon technology at its Upper Class lounge sending updates on nearby service, discounts at stores as well as flight boarding schedules to a passenger's iPhone.

Google Glass is still in the Explorer stage so unless you've been recommended by a friend who has Glass you'll be heading to eBay to get hold of the headsets which cost around $1500.
