Samsung To Unveil Smart Home Integration To Control Home Appliances
Samsung is to reveal it's new home integration system that will allow users to control appliances remotely.
Smart Home will work with existing Samsung appliances and entertainment electronics as a single app for smartphones and smartwatches.
The Korean firm will unveil it's latest technology at CES, before rolling out across Samsung devices and appliances in the first half of 2014.
Samsung's breadth of remote controlled electronics stretches from its Smart TVs through to refrigerators and washing machines. It will also make Smart Home available to third-party providers of home-energy, secure home access, healthcare, and eco home services.
Smart Home will enable consumers to not only control appliances, but also check their status, receive alerts and even access cameras within certain devices.
Voice controls will also be introduced, meaning that a user can say "goodnight" to their Samsung smartphone or smartwatch and all Smart TVs will be switched off while smart LED bulbs will be gradually dimmed down to complete darkness.
Meanwhile, the voice command "going out" will also turn lighting off, as well as selected appliances.
"With Samsung Smart Home, we are bringing our capabilities as the world's number-one manufacturer of smart devices to make the connected h a reality for consumers today," Samsung's Media Solutions Centre president Wonpyo Hong said.
"In the coming days, we will continue to roll out better home services to our consumers to enable them to keep enjoying a brand-new experience of 'Smart Living and Beyond'."
