Mercedes-Benz To Show Pebble Smartwatch Car Integration Features At CES

Mercedes-Benz has announced smartwatch car integration in partnership with Pebble.

The technology boasts an alert system, car-location features and fuel status updates which report directly to the driver's wrist in and away from the car.

The vehicle manufacturer will have advanced access to Pebble's hardware and software APIs for use with its cars.

Developers have reinvented many of the features currently available on the Digital DriveStyle app, with the Pebble smartwatch acting as a second screen for a smartphone.

Although drivers won't have access to the technology anytime soon, Mercedes-Benz will showcase the features at CES 2014 in Las Vegas next week.
Connectivity from wrist to car will provide users with real-time vibration alerts for accidents, road construction or stalled vehicles.

The smartwatch will also let drivers pinpoint the location of their car, check fuel levels and verify it is locked.
