Samsung has revealed a third wearable device at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the Samsung Gear Fit - which is designed to accompany the company's Galaxy S5 smartphone.
If you needed any further proof that wearable tech is set to be a huge trend this year, then the Gear Fit should be it. It's the third wearable device Samsung has announced, following the Samsung Gear 2 and Gear Neo.
What makes this one different? Well, as we can see from the name, it's based more on health and fitness than either of its wrist-based brothers.
Clearly, Samsung has the likes of the Nike+ Fuleband SE and Fitbit Force in its sights and has gone for a much sleeker design than its fully-fledged smartwatches.
The Gear Fit's headline feature is the 1.84-inch curved AMOLED display - an industry-first for a wearable device. The 432 x 128 screen will keep you updated with notifications like SMS and emails pulled from your smartphone as well as the various health-related metrics
These include a pedometer, heart rate monitor, sleep tracker, stopwatch and timer that - thanks to the IP67 waterproof rating - mean you can use it in the rain.
“The new range includes the Gear Fit which we’ve designed specifically to help those of our customers that want to live a more fit and active life but don’t want to sacrifice their own personal style or ability to stay connected on the go," said Simon Stanford, vice president of the IT and mobile division, Samsung UK.
The Gear Fit offers a choice of three changeable straps in black, orange or mocha grey, giving you the ability to customise to your liking.
