Apple's Upcoming iOS 8 To Focus On Health And Fitness Tracking

Apple will focus on health and fitness tracking in its iOS 8 update, a report has claimed.

According to 9to5Mac, the iPhone maker will release a new version of its operating system later this year with health and fitness integration as its "headline feature", although the recent user interface changes will remain unchanged.

The potential of such plans would also pave the way for the long-rumoured iWatch, which is said to feature health-tracking sensors.

Data from the iWatch would be sent to an application on board iOS 8 called Healthbook, providing similar features to the existing Nike+ Move app.

This will include calorie and step counting, as well as weight loss tracking, all made possible through the iPhone's M7 motion tracking processor.

Meanwhile, health data will provide information on the users blood pressure and heart rate through the app.
