Mozilla Details Firefox OS Tablet Specifications

Leaked specs of the first Firefox OS powered tablet indicate that Mozilla is bringing a low-end model to the budget-conscious chunk of the market .

Microsoft software developer, Asa Dotzle, revealed via a blog post specifications and an image of the first Firefox OS powered tablet.

The tablet, named InFocus New Tab F1, will be powered by quad-core 1GHz Allwinner CPU with PowerVR SGX544MP2 GPU.

The alleged tablet also comes packed with a 10.1 inch IPS display offering a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels.

Other features include 2GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, microSD card slot, 5-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front camera, and a 7000mAh battery.

There’s also GPS, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity but only with support for 802.11b/g/n.

The Firefox OS tablet has been identified under the codename, FlatFish.

Manufactured by Foxconn, Mozilla’s tablet entry could be priced anywhere between $100 and $150.

It seems evident that Mozilla aren’t looking to challenge the likes of the iPad and the Nexus 10, instead placing focus on emerging markets in more price-sensitive areas.
