Make Your Dream A Reality
















This year is already going steadily, are you still working towards the dreams that you have set for yourself this year? Or could you already foresee that this year is just going back to become a replica of 2013? Perhaps you have set lofty dreams for this year to accomplish,but already you have conveniently put it into the back of your mind as everything else takes over. The same time last year, you dreamt a dream, and this day this year, you are not any closer to your dream. That is just how things get around with you. But you could make a change this year, if you are determined to.
By sticking with the following strategies, you would surely see positive results


Break the dream into small actionable steps: Pursuing your dreams is like eating, you can’t gobble a whole cake, you have to first cut it into slices. If you aim to lose weight, start listing the specific steps that you need to take, replace desert with dried fruits, go vegetarian, jog, cycle instead of taking the bus. The main thing is to make the steps achievable. And remember to give yourself encouragement whenever you make a conscious effort to follow through the steps.


Get an accountability buddy : Share your dream with a close friend/relative/spouse. Have them check back on your progress every month or in any schedule you prefer. Make sure you get somebody who has no inhibitions about speaking his/her thoughts against you. At the same time, your accountability buddy must be willing to work together with you to motivate you towards your dream.

Set a visual reminder: Beside having somebody to motivate you, you would need a visual reminder, preferably a daily reminder. Set up a note on your computer or smartphones. You could even put physical note and post it on your mirror and read them before you brush your teeth everyday.

Visualize the results: Practice visualizing yourself achieving your dreams for a few minutes every day. Feel the emotions that you would be feeling when you achieve your dreams, feel the state, make it convincing and feel yourself believing in it. This helps to generate positive feelings and staying positive,it is one of the greatest driver towards your dreams.

Never beat yourself down: There would be time when you would be out of faith or make a mistake. It is alright, we are all human. In life, there would be ups and downs. Take a short break, get your mind off, go into the nature and recharge yourself. If you do not have any motivation to continue, revisit the purpose of your dreams, see if this might ignite your spark. This could be a good time to speak to your accountability buddy.

Set a deadline: If you never give yourselves a deadline, you would always find something else which is more important. Set it and work towards it but if you fail to meet it, remember, never beat yourself down. Instead, go with the flow and strive to meet the next deadline you set.


Start Now: Nothing would change and no habits would be reinforced if you never start. You could do the above steps in perfection but nothing would happen if you never take the leap to pursue your dreams. So start making changes, no matter how small today.

Like the popular saying, "A journey of thousand miles, starts with just a single step"
