Samsung has revealed four new tablets split across two new product lines at CES including, for the first time, a 12.2-inch form factor
Samsung spent 2013 producing every conceivable blend of consumer technology and it appears the Korean company plans to begin 2014 exactly the same way.
Four new tablets made an appearance at the company's press conference in Las Vegas today – subdivided into two new product lines: Galaxy NotePro and Galaxy TabPro.
Consisting of a single 12.2-inch model, the Galaxy NotePro line is the continuation of last year's Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet.
The NotePro boasts a WQXGA widescreen display with a 16:10 aspect ratio and a massive 2,560 x 1,600 resolution.
Like it's earlier Note brethren, this new device comes with the S Pen stylus and the accompanying features like S Note and S Planner.
It also offers up a rear-facing 8MP camera and a home-grown Exynos 5 octa-core processor. It will also arrive with Android 4.4 KitKat running out of the box.
Meanwhile the TabPro line will consist of three tablets with screen sizes including 12.2-inch, 10.1-inch and 8.4-inch.
As with the screen sizes, the specifications decrease with each model. While both the 12.2-inch and 10.1-inch models boast the same octa-core processor as the NotePro, the 8.4-inch variant runs on a quad-core Snapdragon 800 chip.
All three models boast the same 2,560 x 1,600 WQXGA resolution of the NotePro. And, while the two smaller models arrive with 2GB of RAM, both the 12.2-inch NotePro and TabPro feature 3GB of RAM.
