ios 9 Is To Have A Single App To Control Your Entire Smart Home

According to 9to5Mac, the next version of Apple's mobile operating system will include a single app which can control all HomeKit devices.
The app, named Home, will have a variety of functions, including the ability to create virtual rooms, set up connected devices and turn the Apple TV into a central home hub.

Of course, Apple remains tight-lipped on the app, but if it is real it'll likely be announced during the company's World Wide Developer Conference on June 8.

HomeKit was first announced in 2014 along with iOS 8. It's a platform enabling iDevice owners to control a range of connected appliances which meet Apple's stringent guidelines.

Hopefully, this will introduce some standardization to the IT industry, making it easier to create systems without the need for complex third-party applications.

According to 9to5Mac only internal tests of the app have taken place, possibly suggesting the application has been developed specifically for framework development. However, Home includes multiple menu screens, which hints it could eventually grace your iPhone.

Just like the Apple iWatch app, Home will probably appear on your iPhone and iPad whether you like it or not. Will it be a genuinely useful addition, or relegated to the folder of unused apps? Only time will tell.

Kindly share with your friends!
